After winning the first set, the Sully Buttes Chargers couldn’t get any rhythm, and the Potter County Battlers took the initiative and ended the Chargers season with a 22-25, 25-20, 25-18, 25-14 four set victory Tuesday night in Gettysburg.
The Battlers kept the Chargers at bay throughout the rest of the match after the first set, and avenged a loss on their home court on September 27th to the Chargers.
Junior Kaydin Cronin and sophomore Zoe Meinke (mihn-key) paced the Battler attack, while Sully Buttes once again had back row and passing consistency problems all night.
Junior Trichelle White and Allyson Wittler led the way for the 13-17 Chargers, with Stevie Wittler having to work all night long to get position for sets after errant passing.
The Battlers, now 13-18, will travel to Selby Thursday night to face top seed Herreid/Selby Area, a three game sweep winner over the Highmore-Harrold Pirates.
