Potter County Girls Win State Title, Pierre’s Lutmer Third at Sate Cross Country Meet

Saturday schools from across the state gathered at Huron for the state cross country meet as the Potter County girls would win the team title while Pierre’s Jared Lutmer had a third place finish.

Pierre

Lutmer had a third place finish to be an All-State runner with a time of 16:17 just seven seconds behind a second place finish. The Governor boys would finish in eighth place as a team with a score of 209. Devyn Van Roekel had the highest finish of any Governor at 23rd. The girls would finish in ninth place as a team with a score of 219.

Sully Buttes

Myli Weischedel would finish in 112th with a time of 28:11

Stanley County

Spencer Sargent was 87th with a time of 19:05 for the Stanley County boys. Kaysen Magee was 75th with a time of 21:41 while Rachel Nemec was 102nd with a time of 23:34 for the Lady Buffs.

Potter County

Dannika Kaup would lead the charge for the Battlers in winning the girls state title. Her fifth place finish was the best of any Battler as all five runners finished inside the top 40. Jadyn Ahlemeier finished in 12th for Potter County. On the boys side Nick Schlacter would finish in third place to lead the boys team to a 13th place finish.

Miller

Pierce Baumberger and Alex Schumacher were both All-Staters for Miller with a seventh and 11th place finish respectively. The Rustler boys had an eighth place finish with a score of 128. Madilyn Nye had the best finish for the Rustler girls as she was 45th with a time of 21:04.

Highmore-Harrold

Dawson Hale would have the best finish on the boys side for the Highmore-Harrold Pirates. An All-State performance as the Pirates finished in 10th place in Class B. Autumn Fallis had a fourth place finish in the girls race as she was only six seconds behind second place.

Lyman

Taleyna McBride-Wingert was 111th with a 27:45 time. Mason Ryan was 70th at a 20:06 for Lyman.

Jones County

Jolie Duggan had an All-State run for the Jones County Coyotes as she would finish in sixth place at 20:11.
