Pierre Hosts Aberdeen Central on Senior Day

The Pierre Governor volleyball team will have its final home game of the season on Saturday as they host the Aberdeen Central Golden Eagles in its second meeting of the year.

The Govs were able to get a season sweep of the Huron Tigers on Tuesday and will be looking to do the same against the Eagles after defeating Aberdeen in three sets back on Sept. 3. Pierre has jumped back into the fifth spot in the AA standings with just two weeks remaining in the regular season. The Govs can improve to 10 games over .500 with a win on Saturday.

Aberdeen Central is a game over .500 at 11-10 after its four set win over the Mitchell Kernels on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles are now in 10th place in the AA standings as both Aberdeen and Watertown are over .500 but would still have to be on the road in the SoDak 16 if the season ended today.

Pierre will honor its eight seniors before the contest, Remington Price, Lily Sanchez, Dani Beck, Makenna Schlekeway, Grace Soma, Ayvrie Kaiser, Hannah Lemieux and Madison Swenson. Coverage starts at 1:00 with first serve at 1:30 on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports.
