Sully Buttes Opens Playoffs with Rival Potter County in Onida

The Sully Buttes Chargers will see a familiar foe and one they all know too well. The rival Potter County Battlers will be back in town tonight for the first round of the 9B playoffs.

The Chargers win last Friday over Corsica-Stickney elevated them to have home field advantage through the first two rounds of the playoffs as the four seed with the potential of facing the Jaguars in the quarterfinals next week. However, the focus has to be on the Battlers this week. The Chargers defeated the rivals 36-6 in week two of the season.

The Battlers finished the regular season at 3-5 and in the 13th spot in the 9B standings. The state runner-up from last season will have to be road warriors if they want to reach the dome again. Tom Moore, head coach of the Chargers says while they can still take things from the first matchup, it’s about what each team has done recently…

Moore says they’re confident in having the same success offensively as they did in week two…

Moore says physicality will be key again tonight…
