Governors Route Douglas to Finish Unbeaten

The Pierre Governors finished the regular season with an undefeated record with a 46-6 win over the Douglas Patriots on the road on Thursday.

The Governors first drive resulted in a touchdown on a pass from Lincoln Kienholz to Brecken Krueger and after a three and out, Chase Carda would block a punt with George Stalley recovering the ball in the end zone for a touchdown as Pierre jumped out to a 13-0 lead in the first two minutes of the game. Kienholz would finish with four touchdown passes, three to Cade Kaiser with another rushing touchdown. Stalley’s touchdown and then Chance Carda returning an interception for a touchdown had the Govs defense and special teams pick up two scores.

The Governors will take on Sturgis on Thursday in the first round of the 11AA playoffs after the Scoopers lost in overtime to Spearfish. Coverage will be on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Jon Winkler and Blake Dean on the call.
