The Pierre Governor volleyball team didn’t have the bounces go their way on Tuesday night as the Harrisburg Tigers would sweep the Govs 25-21, 25-23 and 25-20.
While Harrisburg is a young team, they have a solid core and it would show as Gabrielle Zachariasen, a freshman would lead the way in kills with 13. Senior Morrisen Samuels would finish with 10 kills for the Tigers. Harrisburg overcame a deficit of five plus points in both sets one and two and the Governors were close, but couldn’t pick a set win in either. Pierre was led by Ayvrie Kaiser with 11 kills while Reese Terwilliger had seven and Lily Sanchez would have six for the now 11-4 Govs. Harrisburg improves to 13-3 on the year.
Pierre will host the Yankton Gazelles on Thursday. Coverage will start at 6:30 with first serve at 7:00 on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Jon Winkler on the call.
