David Reiss Selected To Lead South Dakota Municipal League

PIERRE — A new name is set to lead the state group working on behalf of South Dakota’s cities and towns. The South Dakota Municipal League has selected David Reiss of Pierre to replace outgoing executive director Yvonne Taylor. Taylor is set to retire at the end of year while Reiss will take over the role November 1st. Reiss will work alongside Taylor to get familiar with the organization and member municipalities. Reiss will be departing as executive director of the Central South Dakota Enhancement District. He also spent time in the Department of Tribal Relations as a senior policy analyst and director of programs. Fort Pierre Mayor Gloria Hanson mentioned the move at last week’s City Council meeting…

Reiss will be responsible for all aspects of the Municipal League’s operations including principal lobbyist and point of contact for each of the 11 affiliate associations of the League.
