The Sully Buttes Charger volleyball team looked leg weary and spent, and the Highmore Harrold took advantage with a 25-13, 28-26, 19-25, 25-22 four set victory Tuesday night at Hyde County Auditorium.
The Pirates hustled and played tenacious defense all night long, and kept the errors to a minimum. The Chargers meanwhile, were coming off a three set sweep against Timber Lake Monday night, and had problems getting into gear. It was obvious the previous nights’ play was a factor, as the Chargers had 48 hitting errors and ten service errors, and the Pirates pushed the pace, with solid attacks and hits by Brooke Palmer and Kendall Cermak leading the way.
For Sully Buttes–now 10-11 on the season–Stevie Wittler and Trichelle White led the way in kills. The Chargers can rest up for a week, as their next match is next Tuesday at home against the Stanley County Lady Buffs.
The 8-13 Pirates will travel to Wessington Springs for a Friday night match.
