Tennis Begins State Tournament in Rapid City with Hopes of State Titles

Monday, the Pierre Governors begin a two day quest for a team and individual state championships. The tennis team comes in as one of the favorites to win the state title.

Over the course of the season, the Governors did not drop a single dual to any of the Class A teams and went 14-5 overall in the season. Pierre had a strong showing last week Tuesday at the ESD tournament and will look to build off it with only Huron at the Class A tournament with the Govs. Megan Bauck, head coach of the Governors says the girls are excited…

The seed meeting is Sunday night and the brackets are set about 12 hours before the tournament begins and Bauck says its both nice and tough to get the brackets set that late…
