PRESHO — A Lyman County public use area will be restricted some for improvements. A major overhaul of Fate Dam is underway for the next four to eight weeks. The work includes the boat ramp and trails. The west side of Fate Dam is closed to the public for the work. A new boat ramp, parking lot and gravel trail along the lake’s west side are on the agenda for repair. Game Fish and Parks Aquatic and Habitat Access Biologist Kyle Potter says contractors will install new culverts for drainage, gravel for road improvements and a full boat ramp replacement. Contractors will provide parking for hunting in the area but access to fishing is expected to be limited during the work except for from shore near the dam or walking in. Fate Dam is located five miles northeast of Presho in northwest Lyman County.
