Governors Finish Third in ESD Tournament

The Pierre Governor Tennis team had four flights finish in second place on Tuesday in Mitchell at the ESD Tournament as the Govs finished in third place as a team.

Marlee Shorter and Jocelyn Corrales in singles flight three and four both played in the championship matches in their respective flights, but both came up short to take second place for the Governors. Sydney Tedrow and Kara Weiss in doubles flight one and Caitlin Ott along with Corrales in doubles flight three also finished in second place in their double tournaments. Kourtney Walti in singles flight five placed third. Tedrow in flight one finished in fifth, Weiss in flight two was also fifth while Ott was fourth in flight six. Shorter and Walti in doubles flight two won the consolation championship.

Pierre scored a 214.5 overall on the day which was 40.5 points behind Aberdeen Central for second while Watertown was first at a 282.

You can see a full list of the results below. The Governors will be at the state tournament on Monday and Tuesday Oct. 3-4.
