The Pierre Governors competed in the Huron Invite on Tuesday as the Governor dance team came in fifth place while the cheer team finished in seventh.
The Governor dance team competed in the Pom division and the Hip-Hop division. In the Pom division, the Governors finished in second place with a 226.5 while Yankton finished with a 250.5. In the Hip-Hop division the Governors were fourth with a total score of 233. Overall the Governors had a score of 229.75 just five points behind fourth place. Sioux Falls Washington took home the dance championship of the day with a score of 280.75.
The Governor cheer team finished with a 185.5 for a seventh place finish just six points behind Washington for sixth place. Harrisburg would claim the Grand Champion of the day with a score of 268.5, 31 points better than Brandon Valley who finished in second place.
