Charger Netters Sweep Lyman in Three

The Sully Buttes Charger volleyball team came out strong, and had to hold off a scrappy Lyman Raider squad 25-11, 25-23, and 25-22 Thursday night in Onida.

The Chargers had crisp passing and strong net play all night, but hitting errors kept the Raiders close in the second and third sets. Lyman threatened to take the lead in those sets, but Sully Buttes would rally to keep or retake the lead.

Leading the way once again was senior Lydia Hill, who finished with 10 kills, while Ally Wittler added seven, Saige Heath and Stevie Wittler each added four apiece.

The Chargers welcomed back senior setter Calleigh Chicoine, who had some time on the court this past weekend, and the Charger hitters took advantage of her front row sets.

Sully Buttes is now at .500–6-6 on the season, while Lyman drops to 2-8. Next up for Sully Buttes is a road game Tuesday in Bowdle to take on North Central.
