The Pierre Governors remain undefeated with wins over both Sturgis and Spearfish on the road over the weekend sweeping both teams.
The Governors made short work of both the Scoopers and Spartans as the Governors had wins over Sturgis, 25-11, 25-12 and 25-5 on Friday. Pierre had seven different players record at least one kill with Ayvrie Kaiser leading the way with her seventh straight match with double digit kills. The Governors trailed 6-5 in the first set and rattled off 20 of the next 25 points to win the first set.
Then on Saturday, the Spartans played the Governors close in the first set with a 25-23 victory, but then it was 25-15 and 25-12 to wrap up the sweep and have its 20th consecutive set win and go to 8-0 on the season. Kaiser and Lily Sanchez each had seven kills to lead Piere. Makenna Schlekeway had four kills.
