Pierre Governors Host Mitchell Saturday Night

The Pierre Governors will be back at home Saturday night as they host the Mitchell Kernels looking to improve to 3-0 after its shutout win last Friday in Brookings.

The Governors forced three turnovers, two being interceptions on the first two possessions and kept the Bobcats from reaching over 100 yards of total offense in the game. The Kernels are coming in off a 36-22 victory over the Sturgis Scoopers last Saturday for its first win of the season. Yankton took it to Mitchell in the first game of the season with a 45-6 win over the Kernels. Mitchell’s a running team which the Governors had no problems stopping last week.

Head coach of the Pierre Governors, Steve Steele says one area the Governors need to get better is in the passing game from last week…

Steele says Mitchell is a scrappy team…

Steele says the game plan is the same as it was for other two games…

Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 Saturday at Hollister Field with coverage beginning at 6:30 on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Jon Winkler and Blake Dean on the call.
