The Pierre Governor volleyball team has now won 10 straight sets dating back to last week Friday as the Governors would sweep Aberdeen Central 25-18-25-22 and 28-26.
The Governors in the first set would come back from a 10-6 deficit to take a 12-10 lead after a time out and would never relinquish the lead as Reese Terwilliger had four kills in the first set. Then in the second set, Pierre would again find themselves down 15-8, but a 10 point rally put the Governors up for good. Pierre and Aberdeen would go back and forth in the third set with the Golden Eagles leading both 24-23 and 25-24 before the Governors finally would put an end to the match with the sweep. Ayvrie Kaiser had 10 kills to lead the Governors, her fifth match with double digits. Lily Sanchez would finish with eight and Campbell Boddicker freshly into her new role in the lineup had seven.
The Governors are now 5-0 on the season and will take on Mitchell on Tuesday at home. Coverage will start at 6:30 with first serve at 7:00 on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Jon Winkler on the call.
