Pierre Volleyball Remains Unbeaten with Sweep of Douglas

The Pierre Governor volleyball team, freshly into the state rankings, went to Box Elder on Thursday and handled business with a sweep of the Douglas Patriots 25-16, 25-15 and 25-8.

The Governors are now at 4-0 on the season and had little problem with the Patriots in its second straight sweep on the season. Ayvrie Kaiser would lead the way with 13 kills, the four straight match in double digits. Lily Sanchez had nine kills for the Governors while Reese Terwilliger finished with a game high six aces.

The Governors will travel to Aberdeen Central on Saturday after the Golden Eagles fell in five sets to the Huron Tigers on Thursday. Coverage will start at 2:30 with first serve at 3:00 on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Jon Winkler on the call.
