The Pierre Governor volleyball team remains at home after its first match on Tuesday defeating Watertown. The Govs will face both Rapid City Schools this weekend starting with Stevens tonight.
For Stevens, it’s the first game of the season for the club as they were part of a handful of teams who didn’t start the season on Tuesday like Pierre was able to do. The Raiders went 16-18 in the season last year falling to Brandon Valley in the SoDak 16. They graduated six seniors.
Rapid City Central will come in on Saturday having played its first game tonight against Aberdeen Central. The Cobblers went just 7-27 least season falling to Washington in the SoDak 16 in three straight sets. Central also graduated six seniors from the 2021 team.
The Governors will play the Raiders tonight at 7:00 with coverage starting at 6:30 and then the Cobblers on Saturday at 2:00 with coverage at 1:30 all on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Jon Winkler on the call.
