Pierre Volleyball Defeats Stevens Raiders in Four Sets for Back-to-Back Wins

The Pierre Governor volleyball squad would pick up a four set win on Friday over the Rapid City Stevens Raiders with 25-21, 18-25, 25-9 and 25-21 scores and are now 2-0 on the season.

After dropping the second set, the Governors for the second time in as many matches, responded in dominating fashion. Pierre would win by 16, scoring 11 in a row early on in the third set as they took control of the match en rout to the four set win. Ayvrie Kaiser had a match high 20 kills for the Governors, the second time she’s reached the feat this season. Reese Terwilliger led the team in aces with three while picking up six kills along with Lily Sanchez and Makenna Schlekeway.

The Governors will take on the Rapid City Central Cobblers at 2:00 on Saturday to end the weekend. Coverage will start at 1:30 on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Jon Winkler on the call.
