USF Hires Pierre Native Bryant as First Women’s Wrestling Head Coach

The University of Sioux Falls on Tuesday announced it has hired its wrestling coach as the Cougars will again begin wrestling in 2023 and adding a women’s wrestling program. USF has hired Pierre native Toby Bryant as the head coach of the women’s wrestling program.

Bryant has been around the state since his time at Pierre. Bryant wrestled at South Dakota State from 1997-2000. He was a graduate assistant for Northern State and graduated with his masters in 2003. Bryant then went on to be the head coach of the Aberdeen Central Golden Eagles from 2003-2010. He moved to Sioux Falls in 2010 becoming the owner and director of Metro Wrestling Academy in 2015.
