It was a big jump for the Stanley County Buffalo volleyball team last season as they added an extra double-digit wins to its total as they continue to build off the success hosting Highmore-Harrold tonight to open the season.
The Lady Buffs finished at 12-14 on the season and while they graduate a lot of their top stat players, return plenty of experience heading into the season. Stephanie Huber, head coach of the Buffaloes, is into her second season in charge and will be looking to take the next step this season.
The Highmore-Harrold Pirates finished at 18-11 on the season and lost six seniors to graduation after falling to Faulkton Area in the Region 2B tournament. Stanley County and Highmore-Harrold played a five set thriller in Ft. Pierre last season with the Pirates escaping winning the final set 15-10.
First serve is scheduled for around 7:30 at the Parkview Auditorium in Ft. Pierre.
