Pierre Volleyball Begins Season at Home Facing Watertown

A successful season for the Pierre volleyball team and returning all but two, the Governors are poised for another strong year as they open up the season at home against Watertown.

The Governors earned a spot in the state tournament for the first time in five years, and while not winning a game at state, the experience will be a huge factor into the 2022 season. Pierre losses just two players from last year’s team, Addie Cumbow and Jenna Bush. Watertown finished the 2022 season at 10-17 and graduate six seniors from last year’s squad. At media day, Tiffany Stoeser, head coach of the Pierre Governors says they’re not looking for one Cinderella season…

Senior Lily Sanchez says they have plenty of weapons and worked this summer to add to it…

Senior Ayvrie Kaiser says fans will see what they saw last year, but even better…

Coverage will start at 6:30 tonight with first serve scheduled for 7:00. You can listen on KCCR and watch it on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Jon Winkler on the call.
