Kansas Man Arrested Sunday On Burglary Charges In Pierre

PIERRE — A Kansas man is arrested by Pierre Police on multiple charges including burglary. Pierre Police Captain Bryan Walz says officers were called just after four PM Sunday afternoon to an address on West Sioux Avenue. The report to police was that a man had entered an unoccupied room and spent the night. During the investigation, officers learned the suspect, 35 year-old Clyde Hoggat of Iola, Kansas has been previously issued a trespassing notice for the same property. It’s believed that Hoggat had done the same thing in the past. Police located Hoggat in another room on the property and while talking with Hoggat; he’d given officers a fake name. Hoggat was taken to the Hughes County Jail on charges of Second Degree Burglary; Trespassing and False Impersonation. Iola, Kansas is located in southeast Kansas, approximately two hours east of Wichita.
