PIERRE — The Pierre City Commission is meeting tonight at the Pierre Municipal Building. Commissioners will consider approval of bids for 2023 electric materials and a street closure request for August 20th on Pleasant Drive. The Commission will consider a request to surplus a scraper at the landfill and to sell by sealed bid along with an update to the city garbage collection schedule. Also on the agenda is accepting a petition for the vacation of a section of Chapelle Street and to set a public hearing on that request for August 30th. Commissioners will consider a request to surplus a Bobcat skid steer loader and will get an update on the South Dakota Discovery Center lease along with holding the first budget presentations of the 2023 budget cycle. Making presentations to the Commission tonight are the South Dakota Discovery Center; Capital City Band; Capital Area Counseling and the Boys and Girls Club of the Capital Area.
