Moore Takes Over Sully Buttes Football as Chargers Prepare for Season

Over the summer, Mark Senftner, longtime coach of the Sully Buttes Football program, has stepped aside as Tom Moore now takes over as the new head coach of the Chargers.

The Chargers finished the 2021 season at 4-5 falling to Alcester-Hudson in the first round of the Class 9B playoffs, but will bring back quarterback Landon Hepker heading into his senior campaign who has been the starter outside of injuries for the last two seasons. As Moore takes over as head coach, he’s been an assistant over the past several years which he says make the transition easier…

But as seniors graduate, new roles will open and Moore says the biggest adjustment for those taking the roles will be the physicality…

Moore says there will continue to be similarities to what the Chargers looked like last year…

And Moore says he’s excited for the season to begin…

The Sully Buttes Chargers will begin the season taking on the Stanley County Buffaloes in Ft. Pierre. DT Meyer, the Hall of Fame voice of the Chargers will Charger sports once again this season on Country 95.3 and on YouTube at Country 95.3 Sports.
