Regional Tournament Begins in Rapid City

Today begins the Central Plains Regional Tournament in Rapid City. It’s the third consecutive season the Central Plains Regional has been hosted inside South Dakota. Sioux Falls hosted both 2019 and 2021 with the cancelation of the Regional in 2020 due to Covid-19.

The Post 22 Hardhats finished with four wins in a row, including defeating Pierre in its first win, after losing to Mitchell the previous night. The Hardhats defeated Sioux Falls East on Saturday and then Harrisburg and East again on Sunday to win the state title. Both the Hardhats and Sioux Falls East will compete in the Regional. The first round schedule is as follows:

Game 1: Millard South (Neb.) Post 374 vs. Moville (Iowa) Post 303, 9:30 a.m.

Game 2: Mankato (Minn.) Post 11 vs. Omaha (Neb.) Post 1, noon

Game 3: West Fargo (N.D.) Post 308 vs. Sioux Falls (S.D.) Post 15, 3:30 p.m.

Game 4: St. Michael (Minn.) Post 567 vs. Rapid City (S.D.) Post 22, 6:15 p.m.
