Pierre alum Spencer Sarringar will have a chance to showcase his skills in front of Major League Baseball scouts on Tuesday as he was selected from the Bismarck Larks of the Northwoods League to participate in the Major League Showcase in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
The participants are selected by a handful of scouts which makes it unlike the All-Star game so you must play well during the season to be selected for the event. The day is divided into a doubleheader with four teams playing which also includes workouts for the scouts.
Sarringar is hitting .292 on the season, second best average on the team while hitting three home runs and leading the team in RBIs with 27. Sarringar’s OPS is also third highest on the Larks at .809.
Sarringar joins Jake Hjelle, Carter Rost and Seth Surrett as the four individuals from the Larks to participate in the showcase. The first game of the doubleheader is scheduled for 4:05 in Copeland Park in La Crosse, Wisconsin, home of the Loggers.
