Teeners Win Wild Semifinals, Fall in State Championship

A wild day for the Post 8 13U Teeners as they would win 14-13 in the semifinals over Harrisburg before running out gas in the championship and falling 10-0 in five innings to Watertown.

The Teeners went down 9-2 after four innings to Harrisburg Gold before scoring 12 runs in the final two innings including a seven run sixth to take the lead and hold on in the bottom of the sixth for the one run win. Carter Schiefelbein, Hudson Stoeser, Parker O’Bryan and Ayden Bass each had two RBIs in the win with six of the nine hitters recording at least a hit. Schiefelbein picked up the win on the mound going an inning and 2/3 while Will Danburg picked up the sixth inning save.

In the championship game though, Pierre had played a nine inning game and coming off the semifinal win, the tank ran empty. Watertown jumped out to an 8-0 lead after two innings and added a run in the fourth and fifth to claim the state championship. Pierre had just two hits and committed five errors as four runs went unearned. Schiefelbein and Eli Anderson had the only two hits for Pierre.

The Teeners finished 32-11-1 on the season and went 3-2 in the state tournament taking home second place.
