Wasko Brings Women’s Prison Recommendations To Incarceration Construction Fund Task Force

PIERRE — The South Dakota Women’s Prison in Pierre was a significant part of the discussion Tuesday as the Legislative Task Force on the Incarceration Construction Fund met for the first time. Wasko also has issues with a recommendation to remodel Unit-E at the Women’s Prison for the Community Work Center…

The D-L-R Group report also includes a recommendation to add a new, 250-bed minimum security unit that would be placed over the current recreation yard…

The medical annex of the Women’s Prison will be improved starting this fall with funding from Senate Bill 33, passed by this year’s legislature.
