The Senior Legion State Tournament begins today as Pierre and Brookings will meet in the first game of the tournament this morning.
The Eights have finished the regular season strong and swept the Renner Royals on the road to reach the state tournament. Brookings, the top seed, swept Sturgis at home and finished the regular season hot. The Bandits won its final six games against South Dakota opponents to sneak into the top spot in the state. The two teams played at the beginning of the season, the first two games of the year for Pierre. The Bandits swept the Eights in Brookings 6-4 and 7-5. Head Coach of the Eights, Brian White, says they’ve been going through their normal routine getting ready for the state tournament…
White says they’re not looking at needing to “owe” Brookings a game…
To make that happen, they need to take it one pitch at a time…
