Pierre Police Arrest Juvenile In Connection To Friday Vandalism Spree

PIERRE — Pierre police have arrested a juvenile suspect they believe is behind a series of vandalisms in Pierre. Captain Bryan Walz with the Pierre Police Department says last Friday; officers investigated approximately 17 incidents of vandalism in east Pierre. Police were able to link the juvenile at least 10 previous vandalisms. The juvenile suspect allegedly used spray paint to paint graffiti and vulgar statements on vehicles and campers in the areas where the vandalism took place. The case is being referred to the Hughes County States Attorney’s Office for consideration of charges. Walz did not indicate how long the juvenile may have been committing the vandalisms. Of the Friday vandalisms, three were reported on South Filmore and East Franklin. Two were reported on South Taylor, South Tyler and South Pierce with one reported on South Harrison; South Buchanan; East Park and East Humboldt Streets.
