Friday begins the Senior Legion playoffs as Pierre Post 8 will have to travel out to Renner to face the defending state champion Royals in a best-of-three series.
Post 8 finished in ninth place in the standings, one spot away from being a host for the first round matchups. Brian White, manager of Post 8, quickly points to the loss with Renner back at the beginning of July of a reason and hopefully a reason for motivation…
The Eights split its final two games against Brandon Valley and will come into the contest having won five of the last seven games of the season and are 17-20 overall. Renner comes in with a big win over Sioux Falls East on Monday as they went 13-12 in South Dakota games but are still under .500 for the year at 17-21. The Royals won just two of its last six games and lost four of the last five games against South Dakota opponents. While the Eights are on the road, White says there’s not much difference up and down the state heading into the playoffs…
The fundamentals are important this weekend as they have been all season for Pierre to advance to the state tournament…
