Van Camp Enjoyed Final Summer at Hyde Stadium

When the Pierre Trappers came calling before the summer, Jack Van Camp wasn’t thinking about playing summer ball after his first year at Iowa Central Community College because he was going to only work. However, the proposition to not have to travel and only pitch at home made the decision to play for the Trappers a no-brainer…

Van Camp over the summer threw 32 and 2/3 innings for the Trappers allowing 29 earned runs on just 36 hits allowed. Van Camp struck out 34 batters this summer, just over one batter an inning. Hitters hit just .279 against Van Camp over the year. Van Camp says he was proud of the guys and how they ended the year…

Van Camp was able to pitch in both games three and four, the final two games of the year and he says he did everything to empty the tank…

As for what’s next for Van Camp…

Van Camp is just the fourth Post 8 alum to play a summer with the Pierre Trappers.
