A majority of the project will be funded with federal Airport Improvement Project funds which come as a reward for Essential Air Service program airports hitting a 10-thousand passenger threshold each year. The Commission approved the bid pending receipt of the FAA grant which is expected to happen this week. The local share of the project is 187-thousand 650-dollars. The anticipated project cost is just over seven-point-five million dollars.
