Pierre Post 8 will have a chance to play one of the top teams in the state on Saturday as Brandon Valley Post 131 will be at Hyde Stadium. The Eights are coming in off a sweep while Brandon Valley was swept and have lost four in a row.
Harrisburg was able to beat Brandon Valley in the doubleheader on Wednesday while the Eights were able to knock off Sturgis in both games including a comeback walk-off win. Brandon Valley has lost four in a row including its final two games of the Gopher Classic last weekend. Post 131 is 10-5 in South Dakota games and has dropped from first place to third place in the standings sitting behind both Rapid City Post 22 and Mitchell. Pierre is in 9th place now and tied in seed points with Renner for 8th but the Royals own the tiebreaker because of the head-to-head record. This doubleheader becomes even more important for the Eights to try and nab home field advantage in the first round series.
