Wiebe, Stalley Combine for Complete Game to Close Gopher Classic

Jayden Wiebe went five innings and George Stalley had two innings of relief as Pierre Post 8 downed Chanhassen in the final game of the Gopher Classic Sunday winning 4-1 going 2-3 in the tournament.

Pierre took advantage of five errors committed by Chanhassen as all four runs were unearned in the win. Lincoln Kienholz drove in two runs for the Eights while Jett Zabel doubled home a run and Connor Bruce had the final RBI of the day as the Eights jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the second inning. Wiebe went five innings allowing just five hits, five walks and one strikeout.  Stalley allowed just one run on two hits with a strikeout.

Pierre is now at 14-19 on the season and will have six games remaining left in the season as they beginning the final stretch all at home. The Eights will host Sturgis on Wednesday.
