Pierre Trap Shooting Team Finishes Just Outside Top 100 in National Championships Friday

The first day for the Pierre Trap Shooting team averaged out to be a very good day for the young men. The five Pierre participants shot a team score of 460, which was tied for 97th overall, but is listed as 102 in the final scores.

For Pierre, Lucas Jones finished with a 95 on the day which was best of the five athletes followed by Noah Smith at 93, Jaxon Jungwirth and Shawn Van Liere each with a 91 and Bryce Becker with a 90. It was an incredible day for Pierre to shoot well, even battling the weather elements. Pierre didn’t qualify for the team championship round on Sunday, but only missed out by four shots. The margin for error was extremely thin to make the cutoff to be in the national championship round on Sunday.

The same group of five will have an opportunity to compete individually on Saturday for a chance to make the championship round on Sunday. The day begins at 9:30 Eastern Time in Mason Michigan.
