WINNER — The South Dakota Highway Patrol has released the names of those involved in a fatal crash in Tripp County. The two-vehicle crash happened Sunday around 7:45 AM one mile east of Colome on U-S Highway 18. So far, the crash investigation shows a 2001 Ford F-150 pick-up was traveling west on 18 when it crossed the center line and struck a 2015 G-M-C Sierra pulling a cattle trailer. Two of three occupants of the G-M-C were killed. They include 40 year-old Darsey Larson and 14 year-old Koye Larson, both from Dutchess, Alberta, Canada. Kyle Larson, the 45 year-old driver of the G-M-C suffered life threatening injuries. He was transported to a Sioux Falls hospital. Darsey and Koye Larson were transported to hospitals in Winner and Gregory respective where they died. All three Larsons were wearing seat belts. Three of the four Ford occupants suffered serious non-life threatening injuries. They include driver, 33 year-old Justin Hurtado; 32 year-old Veronica Hurtado and 36 year-old Leonard Boyer of Colome. A 17 year-old male passenger from Tripp suffered minor injuries. All but the female passenger were wearing seat belts. Charges are pending against the driver. The crash closed U-S Highway 18 for approximately seven hours.
