Milbank Baseball Stadium Breaks Ground

KLXG –Watertown – After over four years, the town of Milbank could see its baseball field come to life The groundbreaking ceremony was held this past Friday. Milbank is the “Birthplace of American Legion Baseball.”

All the American Legion members who were present helped with a traditional “shovel” groundbreaking photo and placement of the home plate.

Mayor Pat Raffety after the ceremony to learn more about this big project for a small town…

In between, the teams played on a CO-ED softball field, which was not quite the size and dimensions they needed to play.

There is much more to the project than just the field, so Mayor Raffety says they still need donors…

Raffety also says the plan for the property includes soccer fields, additional camp sites and an amphitheater to be one stop for sports and entertainment.
