Four Arrested In Fugitive Roundup In Pierre

PIERRE — Just days after a combined effort brought a California murder suspect into custody in Pierre four fugitives were arrested in Pierre during a joint law enforcement operation. The Hughes County Sheriff’s Office, working in concert with the U-S Marshal’s Service Dakota Territory Fugitive Task Force and Pierre Police arrested two men and two women in the operation. Those in custody include Jason Allen Kimmel Jr on a Pennington County warrant for threatening a law enforcement officer; Peyton Danielle Lefthandbull on a Hughes County warrant for a felony probation violation; Nanci Renae OneStar on a Minnehaha County warrant for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Antoine Wayne Waln Jr. on a Department of Corrections absconder warrant. Sheriff Patrick Callahan says it was a highly successful effort and credited the Fugitive Task Force of which some members are Hughes County Deputies. Additional officers from the Pierre Police Department were included in the operation as it grew in size and scope.
