Pierre Post 8 didn’t get a chance to face Mitchell on Tuesday, but today the Eights are ready to face the Rapid City Post 22 Hardhats in a single game at Hyde Stadium.
The Eights and Hardhats have yet to face off after a weekend in Rapid City was canceled in June as this will be the only matchup between the two teams outside of a potential matchup in the state tournament. Rapid City comes in at 31-20 on the season after going 2-3 last weekend at its Firecracker tournament. The Hardhats are 16-1 in South Dakota games so a win for the Eights will add a big 50 points to its total as Pierre continues to fight for a higher seed with just seven games left in South Dakota games.
The Pierre and Mitchell doubleheader will also not be rescheduled.
First pitch of the single game is scheduled for 5:00 with coverage beginning at 4:45 on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Jon Winkler on the call.
