For the second straight day, the Pierre Trappers were able to pick up a 10-run rule win as they stomped the North Iowa Ragin’ Roosters 14-4 on Monday.
Pierre took a 3-0 lead through two innings and would hang a five spot in the bottom of the fifth to lead 8-2 before leading 8-4 heading into the bottom of the eight. Pierre would add another six runs to end the game an inning early and pick up consecutive wins for the first time since June 16-17 when they beat the Red River Pilots and Ragin’ Roosters in back to back games. Trevor Seagraves led the way with three runs driven in with Tynan Shahidi and Kolby Rich adding another two RBI each. The Trappers had 11 hits and all 11 were singles on the night. Kaleb Hay picked up the win on the mound going five innings allowing just four hits, two runs only one earned with three strikeouts.
Pierre will look for a third consecutive win on Tuesday at home. First pitch from Hyde Stadium against the Ragin’ Roosters is scheduled for 7:05.
