Pierre Post 8 had 13 hits and scored 12 runs to beat the Glendive Blue Devils 12-2 in the first game of Minot Tournament on Friday.
Gary Nedved hit a two run home run in the top of the fourth inning and then doubled home another run in the seventh as Pierre jumped out to a 9-0 lead with three runs in the first, second and fourth innings. Brecken Krueger surrendered one run in six innings of work with just six hits and one walk allowed. George Stalley had three hits and two RBI along with Jett Zabel driving in two runs.
Pierre’s second game was canceled due to inclement weather against the Minot Vistas. The Eights will play at 10:00 AM on Saturday against Billings Montana in its final game of pool play and will play again on Sunday with a time still to be determined.
