Post 8 Struggles at Home, Drops Doubleheader to Sioux Falls East

Pierre Post 8 had the offense sputtering throughout a doubleheader being swept by Sioux Falls East as they fell 10-2 in game one and shutout in game two 10-0 in six innings.

The Eights had just a combined nine hits in two games as Lincoln Kienholz had three of the nine hits, two in game one including an RBI single with Gary Nedved driving in the game’s second run with a double. Pierre went down 5-0 to East before scoring a run in the fourth and fifth, but a four run sixth for East pushed the lead to far in game one.

Isaac Polak went four shutout innings in game two, but was still tagged for six runs in the fifth as he was unable to record an out in the inning before Jack Merkwan replaced Polak on the mound. Another four runs scored in the sixth and Pierre had just one runner get to third in the ballgame. The Eights drop to 7-11 and are now 4-6 in South Dakota games.
