PIERRE — The South Dakota Department of Transportation has two projects starting soon on central South Dakota highways. Tomorrow, asphalt paving and milling will begin on a 14-mile stretch of Highway 1806 approximately 18 miles southeast of Fort Pierre. Milling will start June 21st with paving to start June 27th. Drivers should expect a 15-minute delay with flaggers and pilot cars. Another paving and milling project is staring Tuesday. Crews will work to resurface U-S Highway 212 from a mile east of La Plant to U-S Highway 83 in Potter County. Milling is expected to start on June 21st with paving to begin in early July. Paving should be done on the 212 project by mid-August. Paving on the South Dakota 1806 project is expected to end by August 26th. The U-S 212 project is 42 miles long.
