FORT PIERRE — A Rosebud woman convicted of her sixth Driving Under the Influence charge in 10 years is finally going to prison. Stanley County States Attorney Thomas P. Maher says 35 year-old Kathleen Knox was first sentenced to five suspended years in prison on a Fourth Offense D-U-I in Stanley County two years ago. The time was suspended on the condition Knox complete Problem Solving Court. Knox then, quit the program and left the area. She was seriously injured as the driver in a drunk driving crash in Rosebud, but when released from the hospital, failed to return to the probation program. Knox was arrested in Pierre for the sixth D-U-I in March. Judge Margo Northup sentenced Knox to the five suspended years from Stanley County and nine years on the Hughes County sixth D-U-I. The prison time will run concurrently. With good behavior, Knox could be parole eligible after serving 40-percent of her sentence.
