Pierre Post 8 will begin a busy stretch starting this weekend as they head to Sioux Falls to play in the Dakota Classic with four guaranteed games through Sunday morning.
Tonight Pierre will face Orono, Minnesota at 7:30 before playing the final two games on Saturday beginning at 5:00 against Columbus, Nebraska and then Sioux Falls East. Pierre finishes pool play on Sunday morning at 9:30 against Omaha Gross. Pierre dropped its latest two games with losses to Watertown to drop to 5-7 on the season and is under .500 in South Dakota games at 3-4. However, Saturday’s night game is important outside of the tournament and inside the tournament against Sioux Falls East. The result goes into the South Dakota standings so it becomes the most important game of the weekend for Pierre, with the exception of a possibility of playing another South Dakota team if advancing in the tournament.
Coverage on Friday begins at 7:15 with first pitch at 7:30. Saturday coverage will begin at 4:45 with first pitch at 5:00 all on KCCR and then on Sunday coverage will start at 9:15 AM and first pitch at 9:30 on Capital City Rock. All four games will be available on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Jon Winkler on the call.
