Big Inning Drops Trappers at Home

The Red River Pilots used a six run inning on Wednesday as they took down the Pierre Trappers at Hyde Stadium 12-7 to begin a quick two day, three game series.

Pierre native Jack Van Camp took the loss on the mound going seven innings allowing nine runs on seven hits, six walks and seven strikeouts. The Pilots scored six of those runs all in the second inning. Maddox Mueller went deep for the Trappers in the fourth inning after Pierre had been down 8-0. The Trappers were able to get back to 9-6 after seven innings but another three runs scored in the eighth and ninth and the early deficit was too much to overcome in the loss dropping the Trappers to 5-12.

The Trappers and Pilots are scheduled for a doubleheader on Thursday. First pitch of game one is at 11:00 with game two being played at 7:05 all at Hyde Stadium.
