This weekend Pierre Post 8 will be in Rapid City as they play in the Veteran’s Classic hosted by Post 22 and Post 320. Games run Thursday through Sunday.
The Eights will play out of state competition through Saturday with the possibility of being matched up with a South Dakota team on Sunday depending on where the standings fall in each pool. Post 8 will face Laramie Thursday before facing Cheyenne, Wyoming Friday morning and closing out pool play on Saturday against Fargo Post 400 and Bellevue, Nebraska. After a 0-2 start to the season, Pierre has a quick chance to have a strong weekend to get on track in the early part of the season. The Eights play its first game at 5:30 Central Time today with coverage beginning at 5:15 on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports. Friday’s first pitch is scheduled for 10:00.
