State Track and Field Meet Finishes Day One

The first day of the Track and Field State Championships concluded as day two begins at 9:00 AM on Friday.

Pierre

The Pierre Governors earned points in the 4×800 relay race as Autumn Iverson, Ava Johnson, Brianna Sargent and Lennix Dupris placed 10th. Aleise Christpoherson was 19th in the long jump in her sophomore year and Blake Wagner was 22nd in the discus throw.

Sully Buttes

Lydia Hill placed third in the shot put throw while Addison Chicoine was 19th for the Sully Buttes Chargers

Jones County

For the Jones County Coyotes Kaden Kinsley, Jett Nix, Cooper Federsen and Chastin Tollakson finished in 16th place in the 4×800 relay race. Tollakson also placed 14th in the triple jump.

Potter County

The Potter County girls of Dannika Kaup, Rayel Persoon, Kristie Lake and Emma Schlachter placed third in the 4×800 relay race.

Lyman

Skyler Volmer narrowly lost in the girls high jump for the Lyman Raiders. She finished at 5-04 falling in a jump off to Hadley Carlson of Arlington. Volmer, just a sophomore will have two more chances as she has been one of the best jumpers in the entire state this year. Stockton McClanahan had a 23rd place finish in the triple jump.

Miller

Ally Mulaney was on the podium in the high jump as she placed third in state on Thursday. Kellan Hurd, Alex Schumacher, Caden Gortmaker and Pierce Baumberger had a 15th place finish in the 4×800 relay race. Gortmaker also just missed out on a top ten finish in the boys triple jump.
